“Where the heck is Sunderland ???”
Glad you asked. It's really quite simple. All Saints' Church sits in the center of a scalene triangle formed by the intersection of Maryland Route 2 and Maryland Route 4. It’s our fault. The roads form this admittedly goofy intersection because of us. The church has been here for nigh on three centuries now, and the roads in the area just sort of evolved to converge on the church.
So...
From Baltimore:
- Take 695 (the Beltway) to I-97 South (exit 4) toward “Annapolis / Bay Bridge.”
- Continue on I-97 for approx. 10 miles to MD Rt. 32 West / MD Rt. 3 South (exit 7) toward “Bowie / Odenton.”
- Merge onto Crane Hwy. and continue on for approx. 10 miles. Crane Hwy eventually becomes US Rt. 301
- Continue on approx. 8 miles to MD Rt. 4 South ramp toward “Prince Frederick.” Merge onto MD Rt. 4 East.
- Continue on Rt. 4 approx. 14 miles to the intersection of Rt. 4 and Rt. 2. Follow the signs to the church, which is on your left.
From Washington, DC:
- Depending on where you are in the District, take either Pennsylvania Avenue SE until it turns into Rt. 4, or take the Beltway to Rt. 4 (exit 11A) towards Upper Marlboro.
- Continue on Rt. 4 approx. 23 miles to the intersection of Rt. 4 and Rt. 2. Follow the signs to the church, which is on your left.
From Annapolis:
- Use your favorite route to get out of town and onto US Rt. 50 West.
- Take Exit 23A onto MD-2 S / (aka Solomons Island Road) toward “Prince Frederick.”
- At the roundabout (about 13 miles) take 3rd exit to continue on Rt. 2.
- Continue approx 12 miles to the intersection of Rt. 2 and Rt. 4. Follow the signs to the church, which is on your left.
Helpful hint for all of these directions:
When you think you're close- if you find yourself on ROUTE 2 and you pass Prospect Drive, stop and turn around. You just missed it.
